Wind Fever

I think the wind is really killin’ me. I chilled out with my best platonic friend last Saturday night at a café in North Jakarta. We took a spot at the pier. It was really cool in the first place, until I found out today that I’m not feeling very well because of the wind I had that night. Pheeeww…you do know how does it feel when your head seems heavy, a lot of burps involved, and your body only wants to crash, right? Uuuuggggggh.…..

Anyway, we ordered nachos and drinks that night as our appetizers. To my surprise, what they meant by nachos was that Frito-lays my sister usually eats, with shredded cheddar cheese on top, served in a small plate with chili sauce (and spoon and fork? Oh, please...).
Then we ordered meals and another drinks. To my surprise, the food and some of the beverages were such a disappointment. The steaks we ordered didn’t look and taste like steaks, and somehow the drinks were either too sweet or too sour. Even their fried ox-tail soup, was like… plain… Very much disappointing.

I guess that was why we kept ordering snacks and drinks (and by drinks I meant non-alcoholic one); until we could find the most satisfying food that night. And guess what was it? It was the cheese-seafood fried dumplings, served in 10 tiny little pieces. I think that was the most delicious meal that night. I should have ordered their omelet in the first place rather than experimenting with other dish they have. What a late thought. Their snacks and beverages are cool; but the meals, you should think more than twice when you’re ordering.

Fortunately those things didn’t ruin the night. We haven’t met each other for like a month or two. There were lots of stories, sharing, stories, opinions, stories, discussion… and so on, and so forth. We spent for like 6 hours from 6.30 p.m. until 12.30 a.m. Luckily the waitress didn’t kick us out; maybe because we ordered many meals and drinks. Haha…disappointing meals to be exact. And so I drove my friend home with my motorbike…and then I found out that my home area was having a blackout, which means no air-con and no music in my room, only mosquito and heat that made me sweat. Those really sugarcoat my dining experience.

I barely slept that night. Although I slept on my white undies only (believe me, it was really hot, no decent ventilation in my room), my body kept sweating like waterfall. As soon as the electricity went on, I turned on the air-con. No wonder I feel this way right now, burping and farting all over the place. Gas is all over in my system. It was really hard for me to get up the next morning to go to church. I could still handle the fever yesterday, but I guess today is the worst. I’m planning to make myself sweating again, hoping that the fever will go away with the sweat. I do hope it will work….
